Dr. Somers received her M.D. degree and psychiatric training at
the University of Pennsylvania, where she also served as Chief
Resident in Psychiatry and as a Clinical Associate Professor of
Psychiatry. Her reputation as a skilled, caring practitioner is
founded on over a decade of experience in teaching, consulting,
and developing and directing treatment programs. Dr. Somers
provides comprehensive diagnostic assessment and individualized
treatment across the spectrum of mood and anxiety disorders. Her
specialty areas include women's mental health issues,
addictions, and psychiatric symptoms associated with medical
illness and stress. She is a member of the medical staff of Bryn
Mawr Hospital.
